About Us
St. Charles Soccer Club was formed in 1982 and is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, serving the towns in St. Charles Parish, and the surrounding areas. It is a member of the Louisiana Soccer Association (LSA). SCSC is ran by a board of volunteers, and it’s Director of Coaching, operating fall and spring recreational programs (U4-14) and competitive teams (U10-19).
Coaching at the recreational level is delivered by volunteers, supported by the DOC through clinics and a coaching curriculum. All competitive teams are assigned a coach who are licensed through the United States Soccer Federation and are required to work towards their C license at minimum. There are also training objectives and goals specific to each age group that coaches must work towards, in order to get the best out of their players, fully prepare them for the next age group, and achieve their individual goals. These goals include learning/enjoying the sport of soccer with their friends in a recreational environment to competing at a higher level such as the high school, Olympic Development Program and even collegiate level.
Today, our membership reaches 700-800 players per calendar year. Participants in our program range in age from 4 years through 19 years of age. SCSC players primarily reside in Destrehan, Luling and the surrounding areas, attending schools within the Parish. We also have players who reside in St. John, Lafourche, Terrebonne and Jefferson parishes
